Mother’s Day Letter

Guest Blogger: Your Mom

Today’s letter is a special one as it is the reverse of all of the letters that have been shared this week. Instead of sharing a letter from an angel daughter today, today’s letter is from an angel mother to her daughter. It is my hope and prayer that you have enjoyed reading the letters from our guest bloggers these past 3 days. If you’re reading this and your mom is still here with you on Earth I hope you will shower her with all of the love and appreciation you can because tomorrow is not promised. And if she lives near by, (I probably shouldn’t say this as a healthcare worker), but despite the pandemic I encourage you to go visit her and give her a great big hug because there are so many out there who wish they could. (If both of you haven’t been vaccinated please make sure you are wearing a mask). To those who are angel daughters, know that I am thinking of you and praying for you today. I hope you will find a way to honor your mom today and by reading the 3 letters this week you may even be compelled to write your own as it can definitely be therapeutic. It is my prayer that as read the letter below you will feel a sense of connection with your mother and it will bring a smile upon your face as you reminisce about the beautiful memories you have together. And to all of the mothers reading this, from myself and DOMA, we would like to wish you a Happy Mother’s Day!

Dear my precious daughter,

Thank you so much for the Mother’s Day wishes. I know today may be a little tough for you because I am not there with you physically but know that if I could, I would definitely be there with you, but God had other plans. I want you to know that I am so proud of you and the woman that you are. As I look down on you, I often smile as I admire your strength, the way you give and help others and how you have continued to persevere and do great things in this role you didn’t choose, being an angel daughter. I see myself in you in so many ways. I chuckle at times when I hear you say thing’s I used to say that would get on your nerves, lol. As I watch you each day, I am thankful that God answered my prayers and has blessed you with favor, protection and grace. I am truly thankful to have the honor of being able to call you my daughter. Being your mother was truly one of life’s greatest blessings for me and having you as my legacy on Earth, is something I am very proud of. There are a few things I would like to remind you of today.

1.     You are a queen so stand tall, keep your head up and walk in boldness.

2.     You are so talented and smart. Know that the sky is the limit and there is nothing you can’t do.

3.     You are beautiful both inside and out.

4.     In the words of Maya Angelou, you are a phenomenal woman!

5.     Always remember to pray and keep God first. Know that He is the source of your strength and He will never leave or forsake you.

6.     And lastly never forget that I love you and I am and will always be your number one fan.

I hope you will find joy, smiles and laughter today thinking about the many moments we had together even the ones where at the time you thought I was being “extra” or “the not so cool mom”, lol. Now you see that it was only for your own good and because I loved you. Know that I am always with you and watching over you, my love last forever and once again, I am so proud of you and glad that you are my daughter. I love you so much!

Love,

Your Mom
